Cliffs of Moher

These majestic cliffs rise from the Atlantic Ocean to a height of nearly 200m and extend for a distance of 8km from Hag's Head.

This is as we saw them
on a rainy foggy day
on the Dingle Peninsula!
For some reason we were reminded
of Niagara Falls.

Some Typical Irish Scenes

Ancient times to 1200 AD.
These beehive huts on the
Dingle Peninsula were found
in groupings suggesting
family farms.
They were made of stone in the
manner of an Inuit igloo!

Yeats Country near Sligo

The grave of poet W.B. Yeats is close to the doorway of St. Columba's Parish Church, Drumcliff. The following epitaph was written by Yeats himself :

Under bare Ben Bulben's head
In Drumcliff churchyard Yeats is laid.
An ancestor was rector there
Long years ago, a church stands near,
By the road an ancient cross.
No marble, no conventional phrase;
On limestone quarried near the spot
By his command these words are cut:
Cast a cold eye
On life, on death.
Horseman, pass by!

The celtic cross in the same cemetery dates back to 400 A.D. and is in remarkable condition. The scene is from the coastline near Sligo.
